New test and research centre at Frisomat
A brand-new test and research centre has been introduced as of January 2010 in the Frisomat Innovation Centre. Frisomat and the University of Leuven, department Civil Engineering, work very closely together for this project. The goal is to determine experimentally the stiffness, strength and rotation capacity from the connection pieces made of thin, cold rolled steel.
A Frisomat industrial building is one giant meccano kit assembled into a steel construction. The structure of the steel building is made out of cold rolled steel.
Frisomat knows the benefits of this material very well :
- a higher strength
- a smooth surface
- a light color
- high flexibility in shape and dimensions
- lightweight, advantageous for transport and manageability
Thanks to these advantages the applications are endless : industrial buildings, agri- and horticulture, storage rooms, riding arenas, sport infrastructure,…
Frisomat is traditionally an innovator and thus continuously searching for new possibilities and applications. An industrial building is subject to climatological forces, like snow and wind. A connection piece must be sufficiently strong, it must be able to absorb the forces working on the structure. By constant tests in-house on the steel connection pieces, the road to the perfect steel construction is open. This guarantees a high quality, but also a fast delivery and assembly at a minimal cost.
